Get to Know JLR & Co.

With a founder who works in the education industry and owns a nonprofit, JLR & Co. fully understands how good design solutions can have a significant impact, especially when you have a strict budget like most education, nonprofit, and social impact professionals and companies do. A great nonprofit or school website can be the difference between growing enrollment, donors, or investors and a shrinking bottom line each year. After working in all three areas for more than three years, JLR & Co. has fully shifted focus to meet this need. As a result, JLR & Co. is able to research, test, and provide creative design solutions that save you time and money.

I'm Jamika

The Founder

Jamika Render is a multifaceted entrepreneur, mental health advocate, and visionary leader dedicated to empowering young girls and women. As the founder of JLR & Co., a creative branding agency, Jamika combines her passion for creativity with her commitment to social impact. Her journey is one of resilience, transformation, and an unwavering desire to make a difference.

Jamika's early life was marked by significant challenges, including childhood adversity and witnessing domestic violence from a young age. These experiences, compounded by severe depression and two suicide attempts, profoundly shaped her understanding of trauma and the importance of mental health support. Despite these hardships, Jamika's resilience led her to find her voice, set boundaries, and discover the strength within herself through faith.

Her creative talents and entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of JLR & Co., where she leverages her expertise in branding and design to support various initiatives, including her own nonprofit ventures. Jamika's work through JLR & Co. is a testament to her belief in the power of creativity to inspire change and foster a sense of hope and wonder.

Recognizing the critical need for social-emotional learning (SEL) post-pandemic, Jamika established The Hope and Wonder Academy. This innovative SEL curriculum, designed for students in grades 3 through 7, equips children with the tools they need to navigate their emotions and build resilience. With a successful app pitch at the Watson Institute x Trust Foundation, the academy represents Jamika's commitment to creating accessible, impactful educational resources.

In addition, Jamika founded The Graceful Futures Society, also known as The House of Grace-Georgia, a nonprofit organization dedicated to mental health initiatives for teen girls and young women aged 13-22. Inspired by the CDC's 2023 study on teen girls' mental well-being, this organization offers a 10-week empowerment program and other resources to help young women overcome their challenges. Through this program, Jamika provides the support and knowledge she wished she had during her own struggles, helping these girls feel seen, understood, and empowered.

Jamika's journey from adversity to advocacy is a powerful testament to her resilience and dedication. Through JLR & Co., The Hope and Wonder Academy, and The Graceful Futures Society, she continues to inspire and uplift countless young girls and women, using her creative talents and personal experiences to build brighter, more hopeful futures.
